Small grants for local community groups. To be eligible for funding from this programme your group must be:

• active in the local community
• have an income of less than £30,000 (averaged over last three years)
• be run mainly by volunteers
• addressing a local disadvantage this must be clearly demonstrated in the application
• have been active in the local for at least 12 months before application.

Grants of between £250 and £5,000 are available for capital, project and core costs. But you can only have a maximum of £5,000 over the three years of the programme.  When completing the application form please bear in mind that all projects and funds under the Grassroots Grants must be completed and monies spent by the end of the programme.

Please note

• the online application is a two stage process Part A & Part B and we will not consider your application complete until we have received all the correct paperwork.  Please bear this in mind when looking at our timescale guidelines and the timescales of your project.
• This programme comes to an end on the 31st March 2011.  All groups awarded grants during the 2010/2011 financial year should spend their grants by the end of December 2010, unless exceptionally agreed by the Grants Team.  
• Any groups with grant monies left at the end of the financial year will have to pay the funds back to the Foundation.
• Mail Alert - Please be sure that you correctly stamp your post to us otherwise the Royal Mail will not deliver it!
